The International Resource Panel, together with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, will host an interactive discussion in Davos on 23 January.The session will introduce the Panel's latest report on value retention through circular models in manufacturing. Participants will discuss how science in general, and this report in particular, can be used in decision-making in business, policy making and other areas of society. Practitioners will contribute with insights to this question in an open discussion. The session will be hosted by Panel

‘Natural Resources, Climate and Biodiversity: Resilience Strategies for Sustainable Development’ is the title of a side-event hosted by Germany’s Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, the European Commission, UN Environment, and the International Resource Panel at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP24) in Katowice, Poland. Panel member Hans Bruyninckx, Executive Director of the European Environment Agency, will speak about what the science is telling us about the links between natural resources, climate resilience and biodiversity

Panel member Serge Salat, co-author of the International Resource Panel’s assessment report, ‘The Weight of Cities: resource Requirements of Future Urbanization’, will discuss urban-rural connections and policy design for development and resistance at a conference in China on 14 December 2018. Dr Salat, President of Urban Morphology and Complex Systems Institute, France, will speak at Zhejiang University’s China Institute for New Urbanization Studies and the Cornell China Center’s Joint Conference on New Urbanization.

The Ministry of Local Affairs and the Environment, Tunisia, will host a Regional Forum co-organized with the International Resource Panel on ‘Challenges and Perspectives of Sustainable Development in North Africa’ on 12 December 2018 in Tunis.
