He holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Mid Sweden University, an MSc in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Gloucestershire, UK, and a BSc in Building Technology from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana.
His research focuses on the intersections of buildings, energy, and the environment, with expertise in life cycle sustainability assessment, material flow analysis, and circular economy principles. Ambrose’s work aims to design and implement decarbonisation strategies in the buildings and construction sector, emphasising sustainable materials to reduce environmental impacts and align with global sustainability goals. His research and collaborations integrate resource-efficient construction strategies with sustainability principles, supporting industry and society in transitioning to a low-carbon future.
He has been actively engaged in high-impact research projects, including EU-funded initiatives on carbon-efficient wood construction, and has participated in the IEA's expert dialogue on material efficiency in building construction. He has also served as an Expert Reviewer for the IPCC’s AR6 on climate adaptation in buildings. His consultancy work includes projects for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Boverket (Swedish National Board of Housing and Planning), and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions. His scientific leadership extends to roles as a scientific committee member, session chair, and keynote speaker at several conferences and symposiums, influencing both academic and policy circles.
Ambrose Dodoo joined the Panel in May 2025 for a 1-year engagement period, before being considered for full membership by May 2026 (as per IRP standard procedures).
