The Life Cycle Initiative, the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns, and the International Resource Panel are calling for project proposals to support science-based national policy frameworks for sustainable consumption and production. Panel member Paul Ekins was one of eight leading business and policy voices to be asked to contribute to a collection of essays entitled Industrial Strategy Fit for the Future: Perspectives on Building a Competitive UK Economy, released today by the Green Alliance. The writers said low-carbon development and resource efficiency should be embedded in a modern industrial strategy, and that failure to do so risked wasting the opportunities provided by a green economy. International Resource Panel Governance Working Group member Saleem Ali leads a global team of authors of an article appearing in the March 2017 edition of the journal Nature.
