International Resource Panel members Anu Ramaswami and Reid Lifset spoke on “The Science Behind Sustainable Consumption and Production” at a workshop at the High-Level Political Forum at United Nations Headquarters in New York (9-18 July). For the Forum, the International Resource Panel teamed up with the One Planet Network to raise awareness about Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. The training session was part of a wider workshop entitled “System-Thinking and Policy Planning for Sustainable Consumption and Production

The work of the international Resource Panel was featured in Argentina at a workshop entitled "Resource Efficiency: A Global and Local Perspective". The main purpose of the event was to share and discuss knowledge and best practices on resource efficiency with representatives of the private sector. The event was organized by the Argentinian Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, GiZ, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, and the Argentinian-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce

The latest of the International Resource Panel's full assessment reports was released today at the 9 th Global Forum on Urban Resilience and Adaptation in Bonn, Germany. The report was presented at the event by Panel member Maarten Hajer, co-lead author of the report and Distinguished Professor of Urban Futures at Utrecht University, Netherlands. Panel member Dr Anthony Shun Fung Chiu took part in a panel session on climate change and the environment at the Regional Seminar for East and South East Asia organized recently by the European Commission in Hanoi, Viet Nam. The aim of the session was to assess the effects of rapid economic growth and rapid urbanization, particularly on deforestation, loss of biodiversity, fast-growing carbon emissions and energy consumption.
